My name is Vic Cameron and I am pastor here at Elgin Community Church. I have been pastor for just over a year now, having been interim pastor for a short period prior to that. So what should I tell you about myself....?
I have been a Christian since 1991; however I have been serious about my walk with the Lord since September 11th 2001. Yes, I came back to the Lord as a result of the terrorist attack on the twin towers!
I am a family man, married to Nanette for over 22 years with 3 great kids – Valerie, Lisa and Jamie. I also have a super grand-daughter called Lydia. As well as pastor I work full time as a laboratory manager for a major malting and distilling company. I am a local boy, born in Elgin, brought up in Alves and attended school in Alves and Forres.
My main areas of teaching focus on the Word and on the finished work of Jesus on the cross. I teach about the grace of God and that we are all righteous because of the work of Jesus and our faith in that. My fellowship hear that they are responsible for the quality of their own walk with the Lord, that “God has done His bit” and now it is over to us.
I have been influenced by the teaching of many others over the years. I try and “feed” myself from many sources and think it is the role of a pastor to continually study and prepare. Currently I am listening to teaching and reading material from Andrew Wommack, Joseph Prince, Creflo Dolar and Bill Johnson.
See what I’m reading and listening to just now at http://iluvtheword.wordpress.com
We are a small fellowship at the moment with very informal and relaxed services. You are very welcome to come along anytime and join us for praise and worship and to hear the Word.
